ITS ABOUT THE BOOK HOLES BY LOUIS SACHAR

BELOW IS MY JOURNAL ENTRY WHY ITS MY FAVORITE BOOK.

Journal 4

My favorite book is Holes by Louis Sachar. It is about a teen name Stanley Yelnats (Yelnats is Stanley spelled backwards.) who was charged for a crime he did not commit. Someone stole a pair of expensive sneakers and when they were about to get caught the throw them. Stanley was walking home at the same time and the sneakers hit him in the head. He was caught with the sneakers and the judge can him the chose to go to jail or go to camp green lake, he thought camp green lake was like a summer camp so that’s where he chose to go but when he got there, he saw it was way different camp green lake used to be a lake that dried up many years ago because of a drought. The boys who were there were there for committing crimes. They are supposed to dig holes all day in hopes it will help them build character, but later on they realize that it was for a much greater purpose. The camp owner wanted them to dig the holes to find bury treasure that one of her great, great, great grandmother left decades ago. While there Stanley found out stuff about his family history and why they were so unlucky, and it was up to him and a friend that he made at camp name zero to break the curse. I really like this book because it was one of the first chapter books I read in middle school and because it has so much mystery and oh my goodness moments and it shows how much the people at the camp ancestors tie into each other.
